12/11/2022 0 Comments Asbury park pinball arcade![]() ![]() This was the first retro arcade we've been to that truly recaptures the small strip mall style arcades of our youth. Granted the cabinets are sometimes no longer in pristine condition, but they all worked great, and we had a great time. Yestercades has a great selection from our childhood, late 80's early 90's. ![]() ![]() Now we've been to the Barcade's in Brooklyn and Jersey City, and they have a great selection of classic games, but most are pre-crash. They also have almost every console system released in the US! Boardgames too. I had the most fun though playing the old mechanical bowling game from the 50's, and the old electromechanical light gun games! Yestercades has over 70 arcade machines, and 16 or so pinball machines. ![]() I am not a huge pinball guy, but I found Silverball to be amazing. I loved both places, they are inexpensive to visit, no quarters needed, and the games work very well. We also visited the Jay and Silent Bob comic book store. We got a few interviews, and discussed the joints on our podcast, The Paunch Stevenson Show. So Rob(2600) and I ventured to the New Jersey Shore, and visited the Yestercades Arcade in Red Bank, NJ ( ), as well as the Silverball Pinball Museum in Asbury Park, NJ ( ). #Asbury park pinball arcade mod#Mod B would not be one of them, I was gutterballing it all the way, but enjoyed taking loads of photos and admiring the artwork on the machines.Hey all. The machines range from the 1930s up to the 1990s, and each has a placard on top with the history of the machine and and the names of the high scorers. Then another, then another, then.well you get the idea! He only got into pinball a few years ago when he realized that his daughter, who has autism, was fascinated by the game and would play for a solid half-hour without being distracted. Open 7 days a week, the Museum Arcade was started by Rob Ilvento in 2009. Perfect for parties - you can rent out the space, or you can sit and eat your snacks that they sell at the entrance. There's also a place set up in the middle with some fun vintage Formica kitchen sets. Instead you pay for a certain amount of time, and then can play as many games as you like during that time. The Silverball Museum Arcade has a different setup than a standard arcade in that there are no quarters needed. I'm still positively swooning over the graphics (Even tho this shot has a bit of a zombie/vampire vibe - WATCH OUT JOHN!!!) Retro Roadhusband was psyched to find Funhouse (which isn't exactly vintage, having been released in 1990.)īut Mod Betty went more the vintage route ( big surprise) and was super thrilled with this 1967 "Beat Time" pinball machine. #Asbury park pinball arcade full#Opened year round this space is chock full (over 200!) of classic pinball machines, from every era. PHOTOS Christopher Patti Currently featured is a 1950 Gottlieb & Company boxing themed pinball machine called Knock Out, a rare 1983 Williams Joust 2 player table machine as well as a rare 1977 Bally Evel Knievel machine of. Retro Roadhusband was a bit miffed when we didn't see any vintage arcades on the Asbury Park boardwalk - but the Silverball Museum Arcade made up for their absence.
